- Program Description
September 1645 "Ring of Fire" and "Ashes to Ashes" The Parliamentary attack on Arnescote was a squalid, bloody little battle during which Sir Martin Lacey, the family patriarch, was killed by Colonel Marsh. Sir Martin's son, Tom, has inherited the baronetcy and the title to become Sir Thomas Lacey. One of his first acts is to beg to have his father buried according to the family and the Church of England tradition. Parliament orders Arnescote to be sold, but Cromwell has more ruthless plans for the castle. A BBC/Consolidated production presented on PBS by WGBH, Boston.
