Through portraits of individual job seekers and interviews with experts, OUT OF WORK examines the emotional and economic strains facing people who are unemployed and provides strategies for coping and for finding another job. The first segment, "Termination," looks at what can happen emotionally and financially to individuals who are laid off. Sometimes it can take as long as eight months to find another job, and the second segment, "Transition," offers advice from career counselors and others on how job seekers can find the emotional support they need to stay motivated to keep looking. "The Search,' segment 3, offers tips on interview skills, the hidden job market, networking and other tools for finding another job.
