Take This Job and Ship It Byron L. Dorgan, senator, D-ND During his twenty-four years in the United States Congress, Senator Byron Dorgan has emerged as an expert on US trade and economic policy in the era of globalization. Now in a new book with the provocative title Take This Job and Ship It, he argues that current policies may benefit large corporations, but they are undermining American workers and their ability to reach for the American Dream. Dorgan examines what kind of impact the trade deficit might have on America's future; what policies could slow the off-shoring of American jobs; and what role the federal government should play in managing global trade. Senator Byron L. Dorgan, Democrat of North Dakota, has served in the US Congress for twenty-four years. During his twelve years in the House, he served on the powerful Ways and Means Committee. Elected to the Senate in 1992, he is currently chairman of the Democratic Policy Committee. He is one of America's leading voices calling for change in the nation's economic and trade policies.
