- Program Description
Soon President Clinton will announce his proposal for health care reform. The stakes are enormous: If successful, it could be the most important social legislation of the past 50 years. If Clinton's reforms fail, his presidency and the democratic party will be discredited, 35 million Americans will remain uninsured and rising health care costs will continue to drag down the American economy. This is a behind-the-scenes examination of the savvy campaigning and hard bargaining that has brought America to the brink of health care reform. NOTE: Immediately following the broadcast, FRONTLINE will present "Dear FRONTLINE," the short viewer response segment which will feature viewers' reactions to a selection of FRONTLINE programs.
