Obit: Red Auerbach Former Boston Celtics coach Arnold "Red" Auerbach, 89, died of a heart attack in Washington. Auerbach was part of the NBA at its formation in 1946. He was largely responsible for bringing some of the best players to Boston and capturing 16 NBA championships.
