- Series Description
Developed in partnership with WGBH, Visions of America brings further depth and vitality to Prentice Hall's America: Pathways to the Present. It exposes students to the sights and sounds that people living in earlier times would have experienced. And most important, it shows, with an immediacy unmatched in print, the living connection between the past and present.
Each package includes five viedeodiscs featuring 10 Scenes of an Era: lively informative "music videos" with video, sound, still images, graphics and maps that set the tone for each unit in Pathways. 10 Turning Point Stories that extend the sections with archival footage and interviews with people who lived through the times focused on. 10 Roundtable Discussions by historians and other commentators on the Turning Point topics. There is also a Primary Sources and Media Bank that present additional first-person testimony, commentaries, primary source material, and over 1000 still images. Finally, each package includes a Teacher's Guidebook that provides sample lessons to use with each of the elements on the videodiscs. Series release date: 1995
