With the help of computer simulations, this new special tracks the progress of Boston's third harbor tunnel project and its impact on city life and transportation. While the multi billion dollar project is designed to provide new ways to get in and out of Boston, it also represents the last gasp of federally funded highway construction to feed the American car habit. With that in mind, the program looks at a few alternative forms of transportation, including commuter rails and regional high speed trains.
