- Series Description
FRONTLINE is investigative journalism that questions, explains and changes our world. Since 1983, FRONTLINE has served as PBS's flagship public affairs series. Hailed upon its television broadcast debut as "the last best hope for broadcast documentaries," FRONTLINE's stature is reaffirmed each week through incisive documentaries covering the scope and complexity of the human experience.
- Program Description
Examines the secret connections between Oliver North and British hostage Terry Waite, Anglican church envoy just released from captivity in Lebanon. Correspondent Gavin Hewitt investigates how North used Waite's efforts to free the hostages as a cover for the covert American arms-for-hostages deals with Iran and how that deception may have led to the kidnapping of Terry Waite. (Aired 11/19 on BBC PANORAMA, story also picked up by ABC's NIGHTLINE.)
