- Series Description
FRONTLINE is investigative journalism that questions, explains and changes our world. Since 1983, FRONTLINE has served as PBS's flagship public affairs series. Hailed upon its television broadcast debut as "the last best hope for broadcast documentaries," FRONTLINE's stature is reaffirmed each week through incisive documentaries covering the scope and complexity of the human experience.
- Program Description
The purpose of Operation Desert Storm was not only to drive Saddam Hussein's army from Kuwait's oil fields but also to defend the much larger oil kingdom of Saudi Arabia. FRONTLINE uncovers the hidden history of Us-Saudi relations, examining the extent of the secret Saudi defense build-up, the question of high-level US collusion in fixing the price of oil, and the extent of US involvement in covert Saudi aid to Iraq in its eight year war against Iran.
