Program about the Amoskeag Textile Mill complex in Manchester, NH. In particular the story of the immigrant labor force that lived and worked in the mills, told through their own words and voices. Adapted from the book "Amoskeag: The Oral History of a Factory City" by Tamara K. Hareven, published by Pantheon Books in 1978. Also based on the exhibit by Randolph Langenbach, entitled "Amoskeag: A Sense of Place, A Way of Life."
