Series Description

FRONTLINE is investigative journalism that questions, explains and changes our world. Since 1983, FRONTLINE has served as PBS's flagship public affairs series. Hailed upon its television broadcast debut as "the last best hope for broadcast documentaries," FRONTLINE's stature is reaffirmed each week through incisive documentaries covering the scope and complexity of the human experience.

Program Description

In California, a six-year-old entered the home of a neighbor to steal a tricycle and savagely beat Ignacio Bermudez Jr., a 30-day-old infant. Today, doctors fear Bermudez may never walk, see or care for himself. FRONTLINE explores the conscience of a community and the haunting problem of violent crime in ever-younger children. The program also looks back at the highly publicized "crucifixion murder" case and examines the lives of two boys who murdered a playmate in 1971. Their experience has far-reaching implications for the Bermudez case and the youngest person in the U.S. ever charged with attempted murder.
