- Program Description
Because euthanasia and doctor-assisted suicide are illegal in this country, most doctors and patients involved in the practices are unwilling to discuss their personal experiences. In filmmaker John Zaritsky's FRONTLINE co-produced documentary segment of this two-hour special, however, doctors, patients and families in Holland are quite candid about their life-and-death decisions: euthanasia is practiced openly in that country.
Later, in a follow-up studio segment, anchor Roger Mudd and a panel of experts ponder the ethical, legal, medical and financial implications of the Dutch experience.
