A sleepless young King Arthur, doubting his ability to rule, seeks help from wise Merlin. The old man tells Arthur a spellbinding story about a fatherless boy (the young Merlin) who defeats a cruel usurper to the British throne. When magicians tell the false king to obtain the blood of a boy born of a demon father, Merlin is arrested. His life is saved when he relates a prophetic dream that leads to the warlord's downfall and reveals to Arthur that he is the true heir to the throne. Kevin Kline narrates.
