- Series Description
FRONTLINE is investigative journalism that questions, explains and changes our world. Since 1983, FRONTLINE has served as PBS's flagship public affairs series. Hailed upon its television broadcast debut as "the last best hope for broadcast documentaries," FRONTLINE's stature is reaffirmed each week through incisive documentaries covering the scope and complexity of the human experience.
- Program Description
The biggest financial disaster in US history continues. Four years into the process of selling off failed savings and loan assets, The Resolution Trust Corporation, the federal agency charged with managing the bailout, hasn't stopped the rising cost - now estimated at $600-700 billion in taxpayers' dollars and climbing. FRONTLINE correspondent Robert Krulwich reveals how and why the government has bungled the job, uncovering the inside story of mismanagement and politics, and tells how the bailout itself is now in need of rescue.
