HERCULE POIROT IS LOOKING FORWARD TO SPENDING CHRISTMAS ALONE. MISS LEMON IS VISITING AN AUNT IN TORQUAY, WHILE HASTINGS IS WITH FRIENDS IN SCOTLAND. BUT WHEN THE NATION'S SECURITY IS THREATENED, THE FOREIGN OFFICE HAS A DIFFERENT INTERPRETATION OF SEASON'S GREETINGS AND POIROT IS CALLED INTO FIND THE THIEVES WHO STOLE A FAMOUS JEWEL.
