Description from WGBH press release of the day: “ If you have never been ‘slain in the spirit’, or spoken ‘in tongues’, there’s an experience ahead for you. Tonight’s debut of Religious America, Meeting in the Air puts you right in middle of a Pentacostal church service. The intensity of the participants, the joy and spirit of the service pull you right into an experience you may never have had before. The people you meet are like any other group of Americans - people you see in a supermarket or waiting to go into a movie. It’s their being ‘full of the spirit’ that makes them - and Religious America- a little bit different.”
Filmed at the Faith Tabernacle Church, Riverside, CA. Participants: Reverend Yarborough; Judith Marzilli, the church organist; and LaVaughn Salisbury.
