This is a series of four quarterly specials designed to confront our individual and collective feelings of powerlessness in the face of a continuing environmental crisis. Hosted by Ira Flatow (writer/host of the PBS program "Square One TV.") #104/"Mastering the Marketplace" follows anthropologist William Rathje, director of the University of Arizona Garbage Project; visits a family that generates less than one garbage can of refuse per year; scrutinizes manufacturers' claims of "green marketing"; and discovers how one West Coast entrepreneur turns trash into cash. Also featured are finalists in the contest.
