Stone:
Who was left playing the tambourine.
Stone:
That's right, Jerry, Jerry. What we'd do we'd end
that, and everybody would leave individually. Everyone would leave one by
one by one by one by one by one, and Jerry be standing there. But as you can
see, we'd have fun, we'd just have fun. And it was great. And when you get
through, you'd feel good. You know, you've done something, hopefully very
positive.
Robinson:
But you was wide awake for the
next three or four hours. There was no laying down after that. No laying
down after that.
Martini:
Hyperventilation was
common.
Robinson:
Remember that place we played and
Sly said, told everybody, we're not going to go too fast and don't expend
your energy, but it was closed in, the college gig, remember that? And there
was a cloud inside the warehouse.
Martini:
And Greg
passed out.
Errico:
I passed out, yeah.
Robinson:
And Greg passed out, because he couldn't listen,
see.
Martini:
It was like 110 degrees
indoors.
Errico:
Yeah, well, no, but there was a
low ceiling, and the riser, I was literally that far from the roof. I went,
poooooo.
Martini:
And he had on a really heavy
outfit too, which was hot. Just passed right out.
Robinson:
It was so hot there was no air, and there was literally a cloud
inside the warehouse.
Interviewer:
And what about your crazy
costumes?
Robinson:
What about 'em?
Stone:
Exactly, the costumes that we had, we all decided, we got what we wanted to
get. Um, Jerry, um, why don't you get started and tell about.
Martini:
Well, everybody wanted to have like a, a little
kind of image and that kind of stuff. Mine was sort of a, at that time it
was just a real kind of rugged, caveman-ish kind of look. In fact, Sly was
the one, we had this, you know those cow skins you buy to hang up on the
wall. Sly said, well, c'mere, c'mere, and he cut a hole in it, and put it
over me like a… there you go Jerry. I said, okay. Just roll with this. And
actually it went, and I've seen other people wearing that you know. I've
seen other musicians with tambourines, because I had the tambourine, and
they would emulate whatever we did. And that's actually how that came about
with that rug thing. It was a rug. And Sly said, we couldn't think of what
to wear, because I had something really kind of square looking, he says,
c'mere, c'mere, cut a hole in it and put it on. He said, there you go Jerry.
So that's mine. Next.
Robinson:
And I'm Cynthia.
