Sorrell and Son

Broadcast: Dec. 13, 1987-Jan 10, 1988. A dramatization of Warwick Deeping's 1925 bestseller about a father-son relationship that triumphs over adversity. Stephen Sorrell returns from World Ward I jobless and wifeless, An officer and a gentleman, totally unsuited to manual labor and without any proper profession, he decides to devote his life to rearing his son. A job as a porter at the Pelican Hotel gives father and son a stable home and Stephen's career prospers. Son Kit achieves a profession as a surgeon.
