Broadcast: March 25-April 8, 1990. Young Francie Fitzpatrick comes to stay with her cousin Charlotte Mullen in the west of Ireland. Socially ambitious, Charlotte schemes to bring about a marriage between Francie and Christopher Dysart, the heir to a great estate. Yet Francie proves irresistible to Roddy Lambert, Dysart's land agent-as well as to Gerald Hawkins, a dashing young officer in the British army.
