Broadcast: June 13-July 4, 1971. A story of the power of money from two very different points of view -- Old Goriot who, to satisfy the demands of his two daughters, has reduced himself from riches to poverty -- and Eugene, young and full of integrity and promise, who succumbs to the prevailing Paris fever for money and social success. Eugene fall in love with Delphine (daughter of Goriot) and finds himself enmeshed in a murder plot as he struggles to establish himself in society.
