Crime and Punishment

Broadcast: Sept. 28-Oct. 19, 1980. The self-deluding, tortured Raskolnikov (a poverty striken university student) believes his "superiority" entitles him to murder and get away with it. Magistrate Porfiry leads him into confession rather than pursuing him. He knows that ultimately the criminal wants to confess.
