Auto Industry Bailout House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling for a bill giving car manufacturers' limited access to funds from the Trouble Asset Relief Program (TARP), which was initially devised to prop up failing Wall Street firms. Promoting Palin Needham-based PR consultant Marcia Brier played a role in helping Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin rise to the national spotlight. Brier was hired under a $31,000 contract with Alaska's Department of Natural Resources to sell Palin as a rising political star and a significant player in creating Alaska's oil pipeline plan.
