Program Description

Auto Industry Bailout House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling for a bill giving car manufacturers' limited access to funds from the Trouble Asset Relief Program (TARP), which was initially devised to prop up failing Wall Street firms. The Bush administration has insisted that the bailout money should be reserved for financial companies, and appears reluctant to allocate funds for the auto industry. Real Estate Development The financial crisis is taking its toll on several Boston development projects. The $700 million redevelopment of the former Filene's site at Downtown Crossing has been delayed by 90 days because developers have been unable to secure funds for the project. Guests: John Rosenthal, President, Meredith Management

Promoting Palin Needham-based PR consultant Marcia Brier played a role in helping Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin rise to the national spotlight. Brier was hired under a $31,000 contract with Alaska's Department of Natural Resources to sell Palin as a rising political star and a significant player in creating Alaska's oil pipeline plan.
