Olivier was in his 70's when he played the role of the 80-year-old King Lear, and his participation in the production attracted a distinguished cast: Gloucester is played by Leo McKern, Regan by Diana Rigg, Edgar by David Threlfall, and the fool by John Hurt. Peter Ustinov is the host.
