- Program Description
The producer of WGBH's La Plaza series, Natatcha Estebanez, traveled with 90 young musicians from the New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic Orchestra to film this special about the YPO's teaming up with their teenage Chilean musical counterparts for a nine-concert, seven-city sellout tour in Chile.
In the summer of 1993, ninety young musicians from the New England Conservatory traveled to Chile to perform nine concerts throughout the country. They played in the capital for the Chilean President and in small agricultural cities where live symphonies had never been performed. But best of all they met their Chilean counterparts, conquered language barriers, and shared moments which will last a lifetime.
