Panel discussion of the causation and events surrounding the student occupation of administrative buildings and the student strike on the campus of Harvard University in April of 1969. Program is introduced by Jay Feldman of the WGBH News staff; and features news footage from WBZ-TV of the protesters, student arrests by police,and strike vote rallies/meetings in Memorial Church and later Harvard Stadium. The panel for the program consists of Stanley Hoffmann, Professor of Government, Harvard University; Oscar Handlin, Professor of American History, Harvard University; Franklin Raines, undergraduate and Chairman of the Student Faculty Advisory Council, Harvard University; Robert Luskin, WHRB Radio Reporter; Hugh Calkins, member of The Harvard Corporation; the Moderator is Archibald Cox, Professor of Law, Harvard University, and Chairman of the fact-finding committee on the disturbances at Columbia University in 1968.
