- Program Description
Jack Kevorkian, M.D. is the most controversial doctor in America. He is celebrated by his supporters as a merciful angel of death, the champion of new civil rights issues. To his opponents, Kevorkian is a discredited pathologist whose obsession with death has led him to kill patients who are not yet at the end of their lives. This program presents an in-depth examination of Jack Kevorkian's record, exploring the man, his cases, and the issue he has come to personify. FRONTLINE was granted special access to the story, not only to Dr. Kevorkian himself, but to his friends and members of his family, to survivors of many of the twenty people he has helped commit suicide, and to leading medical authorities on both sides of the assisted suicide controversy.
