Four part dramatization of the Alger Hiss trial, filmed in Boston, starring Edward Herrman as Hiss. The Emmy award-winning miniseries based on the famous Alger Hiss/ Whittaker Chambers spy case which rocked America in the late 1940’s recreates the period when senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Committee on Un-American Activities led a crusade against communism in high places, ultimately destroying the careers of two very different men in the process. starring Edward Herrman as Hiss, John Harkins as Chambers and Peter Riegert as Congressman Richard Nixon. Director Jeff Blackner won an Emmy.
