Program Description

This is a series of four quarterly specials designed to confront our individual and collective feelings of powerlessness in the face of a continuing environmental crisis. Hosted by Ira Flatow (writer/host of the PBS program "Square One TV.") #101/"A Call to Action" addresses the need for a fundamental shift in our relationship to the planet through stories of those who are taking action: The Toxic Avengers, a group of teens in Brooklyn, New York, who found common ground in their struggle against neighborhood polluters. Also, the TAKE-A-STEP CONTEST kicks off for short video pieces on environmental activism. (see Other Info.)
