Program Description

Coverage of the 1968 United States Presidential Election, as well as local Boston area election returns. Anchorman Robert Baram with commentator Louis Lyons. In studio: Richard (Rick) Lee interviews Harvard Professor of Government Samuel Beer; Nick French talks with Melvin Miller, Publisher of the Baystate Banner; Don Fouser interviews Dr. and Mrs. Melvin Taymor.; Rick Lee talks with Haywood Henry and Henry Hampton (Black Unitarian Caucus, National Chairman and Boston Chairman respectively); Don Fouser talks with three Nieman Fellows: George Amick, Jr.; Marvin Alison; Mr. Strickland. Bob Barrum and Louis Lyons summarize current return totals. Bob Barrum reads production credits for the broadcast, Nick French and Don Fouser also read additional credits. Tape also contains promo for Mixed Bag program featuring band "The Quill"; and voiceover detailing additional WGBH programming for the balance of the night following Mixed Bag. Tape ends with WGBH signoff featuring voiceover by William Pierce and visuals of exterior of 125 Western Ave and acknowledgements to the various members of the LICBC.
