- Program Description
This drama, based on Joanna Trollope's best-selling novel, is about a spirited woman's struggle to remain dutiful even as a new life beckons. Anna Bouverie, a clergyman's wife, has spent 20 years scrimping and saving, trying to raise a family and serve God and the parish on limited means. Anna takes a job at the local supermarket, to the disapproval of the parish and the fury of her husband. Three men, the new Archdeacon, his younger brother, and a wealthy newcomer, view Anna with passionate interest and play significant roles as her story unfolds.
