“The Compass Weekly” aired each Tuesday for a minimum of one hour. It was devoted to a single news topic covered in depth, with commentary and review of coverage elsewhere.

Reported by Ed Baumeister . Program focuses on the power, past and present, of political cartoons. Historical survey of the political cartoon from American Colonial times to the present, precedes interviews with prominent cartoonist of the day (1974) including Paul Szep, (?) Dobbins, (?) Blaine, and Vance Rodwalt. Program title comes from a quote by “Boss” Tweed referring to the works of political cartoon pioneer Thomas Nast. 1974.
