Program Description

The North American Premiere of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem took place at Tanglewood, with Erich Leinsdorf conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra with soloists Phyllis Curtin, Nicholas Di Virgilio, Tom Krause and choruses from Chorus Pro Musica and the Columbus Boychoir.

Broadcast as part of the 1963 Berkshire Festival Tanglewood, the concert was performed in memory of Serge Koussetvitzky.
