In order to pay the death duties on their father's estate, Lady Marjorie's brother (the heir) is going to have to sell most of their London property, including Number I65. Unable to raise the money to buy it themselves, Richard and Marjorie see no solution but to move to a more modest address -- until Elizabeth brings home her own solution. Brings him, indeed, right into the drawing room
