Series Description

It’s the brainchild of Brooks Jones, member-artist of WGBH’s Project for New Television, and Timecheck’s director. Only one camera is used, and emphasis is on real events. Things that are happening now, in the television studio, in continuous time. The individual sequences vary in length from 3 to 5 minutes. The only theme (if you are looking for one), is the passage of time. Real time. Periodically the TV monitor in the studio shows what’s happening on the other channels. Timecheck flicks the dial electronically ‘to let you know what you’re missing’ and then resumes its own course of events. Series release date: 1972
