Program premiered in 1971 with The First Churchills. Hosted by Alastair Cooke. Intended as a showcase for the best of British television drama. Spawned MYSTERY! in 1980. - Program Description
This is the story of a lonely woman's desperate bid for love which ultimately involves her in tragedy and terror. While waiting for a train, a lonely woman is witness to a suicide on the tracks. A sympathetic man strikes up a friendship with her. At first reluctant, she is drawn in by his self-assured good looks. She eventually discovers that he is hiding a deadly secret.
