The series is filmed at Carnegie Hall, where the young musicians and guest artists will perform together before a live audience and television cameras.
Just like on radio, the television show will be hosted by Christopher O’Riley and feature outstanding musical performances as well as interviews with talented young musicians, along with games, special guests and more! Series release date: 2007
- Program Description
Famed violinist Joshua Bell takes to the stage in From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall, where he is joined by 13-year-old classical guitarist and bobble-head collector Timothy Callobre from Pasadena, California, and the La Campana Trio, three teenagers who study violin, viola, and cello in Chicago, for a performance of Mendelssohn's "May Breezes" featured on Joshua's latest recording "Voice of the Violin." Host Christopher O'Riley and the young musicians team up to "punk" Bell, but nothing stands in the way of their outstanding rendition of the Scherzo from Dvorak's Piano Quintet in A Major. Featured Music Timothy Callobre, guitar "Sevilla" by Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909)
Joshua Bell, violin, Tim Callobre, guitar, and La Campana (from Midwest Young Artists, Chicago: Krista Stewart, violin, Madeline Sharp, viola, and Jimmy Kang, cello) "May Breezes" from Songs Without Words by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), arranged by J.A.C. Redford
Joshua Bell, violin, La Campana, and Christopher O'Riley III. Scherzo (Furiant): Molto vivace from the Piano Quintet in A Major, Op.81, by Antonín Dvorák (1841-1904)
