During the waning days of World War I, a shell-shocked soldier suffering from amnesia is found wandering on a battlefield. In the hospital, his relationship with nurse Sophia Carey (Juliet Aubrey of "Middlemarch") turns into something deeper. But is the unknown soldier all that he seems? Based on actual cases of First World War soldiers suffering from memory loss whose identities could not be established, The Unknown Soldier vividly portrays the devastating effects of the war on combatants and civilians alike, at all levels of English society.
