On a morning when Hudson has given the servants the after noon off, James informs him he will want lunch served--in the dining room--for himself and his father's typist. And that he wishes Hudson to serve Richard's very best claret. Hudson objects; James orders him; Hudson resigns; Richard says James must apologize. Lady Marjorie says that apologizing to a servant is out of the question. Peace is restored just before Lady Marjorie leaves for America (on the Titanic).
