Program Description

After 20 years, Sandra Guardado and other members of her family travel from the United States to their homeland of El Salvador in honor of her grandmother, the family matriarch ‘s 86th birthday celebration. During the course of this reunion, Sandra begins to search of a sense of identity and the family history that was lost when she emigrated to the United States. “The Reunion” is an homage to generational hopes and dreams, to the immigrant experience and to the women that ensured the family’s survival. The Guardado sisters express their feelings about living and working in the United States and their responses to returning to El Salvador.
