Elma Lewis hosts this program celebrating the US Army’s Ninth and Tenth Calvary Units which were historically comprised solely of black men. Segments in the show include an interview and childhood recollections of Margaret (Mimi) Morgan whose father was a calvaryman stationed at West Point. Show also has discussion with J. Marcus Mitchell, Curator of the Museum of Afro-American History in Boston and Edmund Barry Gaither, Curator of the Museum of the National Center for Afro-American Artists, Boston. Curators and Lewis discuss a sculpture of a calvaryman created by Lloyd A. Lillie. Program also has two dance sequences, choreographed by Billy Wilson, that honor the Ninth and Tenth Calvary. 1971.
