This special series of programs is designed to create awareness and increase understanding of the tremendous challenges young black men face in American society. A collaboration of eight public television stations and the American Program Service, the programs will examine some of the critical issues facing young African American men today, challenge damaging stereotypes and offer a look at some positive actions that encourage a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. Series release date: 4/1994

Part one is a collection of stories from across the country, (provided by partner stations and edited by WGBH,) illustrating the conditions facing young black men and examining some unusual approaches to change. Hosted by Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree Part two is a documentary in magazine format illustrating the challenging problems facing young black men.
