Broadcast: Nov. 19- Dec. 10, 1989 Set against backdrop of revolutionary France, Dickens story of love and sacrifice. Follows the fortunes of two men, one French, the other English, whose love for the same woman draws them into the turbulent events of the Reign of Terror. When Dr. Manette is released after 18 years imprisonment in the Bastille, his daughter Lucy devotes herself to ensuring his happiness and protection from further hardships.
