- Program Description
In the 1950s and 1960s, tension between the oil producing countries and the western oil companies is growing. There are dramatic shifts in oil power, thanks to remarkable characters who exploit the situation at the expense of the major oil companies. The automobile culture brings a new way of life to millions of Americans who abandon the city for the suburbs where they enjoy fast food, drive-ins, and newfound prosperity--while power moves into the hands of the producers.
