Gardening program hosted by Jim Wilson and joined by Bob Smaus, Roger Swain, Lucinda Mays and Peter Seabrook as international travel correspondent. Series chef is Marion Morash. Special correspondent is Holly Shimizu. The Boston-based Victory Garden (w/ Roger Swain) is located at a private residence; Victory Garden South is at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia; Victory Garden West is at Roger's Garden Center in Corona del Mar, California. Original program: Crockett's Victory Garden - premiered April 6, 1976. Hosted by Jim Crockett. Second host Bob Thomson (for 12 years till 1991). Series release date: 1976

This week on The Victory Garden, host Michael Weishan will spend some quality time with our year old perennial border. We'll evaluate what worked, and replace what didn't with some new plants that will reinvigorate this great element of the garden. We'll also visit Callaway Gardens in Georgia for a lesson in building an analemmatic sundial. Early summer is not too late to plant a raised bed in your garden for vegetables and The Victory Garden's own Kip Andersen is on hand to show us how. We'll also get a couple of special visits from cookbook authors Bob and Melinda Blanchard who have delicious tips on easy summer dressings for all of the tender lettuce we're growing and Maya Morales from ZOOM who lends a hand with a gardening primer. Hurray summer!
