Program Description

This uplifting encore profiles prima ballerina Adriana Suárez as she strives to overcome injuries and make it to the top ranks of the Boston Ballet. (Suárez currently is starring in the Boston Ballet production of The Nutcracker.)

Adriana Suárez, is only 32 but has been dancing for more than twenty years. Suárez, the prima ballerina of the Boston Ballet, is both the daughter and the wife of a dancer. Her life is all about dance.

Suárez has enjoyed remarkable success in the US and Europe, yet her life, like that of many other professional dancers, has not been without pain. Near career-ending injuries have left her with both physical and emotional scars. Adriana dances with the knowledge that every jump, every turn, every leap, may be her last.

Scratched from the performance of Boston Ballet's Don Quixote because of yet another injury, the resilient Suárez battles back in hopes of maintaining her coveted role in an upcoming production of Cleopatra.
