Program Description

Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal), JoBeth Williams (The Big Chill), and Angela Bettis (Girl, Interrupted) bring to life Eudora Welty's peculiar and often mystical Mississippi in The Ponder Heart, the fourth title in ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre's American Collection. Directed on location by Martha Coolidge (Rambling Rose, If These Walls Could Talk), the film remains true to Welty's vision of a world where no good deed goes unpunished.
