- Program Description
We examine the state's 22 year-old desegregation law mandating racially balanced public schools. The only law of its kind in the US, its original aim was to ensure that students across the state receive an equal education. Some believe that goal has been achieved and busing is no longer necessary. We talk to people on both sides of the debate. (Produced in conjunction with the McCormack Institute for Public Affairs at UMass Boston, Massachusetts Bar Association, Harvard Project on School Desegregation.)
