Big Dig Settlement Today, the attorney general's office and federal authorities announced a $450 million settlement with Big Dig contractors, Bechtel/Parsons Brinckerhoff.

EOE: Newton North Costs The cost of a Newton North High School building has skyrocketed over time. Supporters say the increased costs are due to asbestos discovered, while opponents are distressed by the rising cost.

Toscanini's Tax Mess Cambridge ice cream shop owners Gus and Mimi Rancatore had their popular parlor seized by DOR last week for failing to pay taxes as far back as 2000. To reopen the store, the Rancatore's have launched a fundraising campaign for a down payment.
