Manuel Gomez, New York City - A ballet dancer destined to become great. We explore his devotion to the dance and his sometimes conflicting outside interests.
Pham Thanh, Berkeley, California - Vietnamese boy who was seriously injured and whose family was killed by American forces, subsequently airlifted by medical transport to the US. Later adopted by American family.
Chi Chi Orange, Detroit, Michigan - Hip 15 year old Black girl who belongs to the Black Love Drill team. They not only learn how to march, they learn about self-awareness.
